Bone Research
Society/British
Orthopaedic
Research
Society
3rd Joint
Meeting
27-29 June
2011
Cambridge,
UK
First
announcement
Registration
of interest
It is our
pleasure
to invite
you to
attend
the 2011
joint meeting
of the
Bone Research
Society
and the
British
Orthopaedic
Research
Society
in Cambridge.
This is
the third
combined
meeting
of the
two societies.
We anticipate
that the
science
presented
at the
meeting
will be
enlightening,
informative
and stimulating
for both
clinical
and non-clinical
scientists.
Our keynote
speakers
will be
of international
standing
and will
come from
a range
of disciplines
reflecting
the interests
of both
societies.
A key component
of the
meeting
will be
ample opportunity
for informal
discussion
and poster
viewing.
For clinicians,
there are
educational
sessions
throughout
the meeting,
but particularly
on Tuesday,
28 June,
which will
feature
a full
day clinical
programme
running
in parallel
with the
scientific
sessions.
There will
be updates
on new
treatments,
clinical
cases and
the latest
research
on the
pathogenesis
of osteoporosis.
The meeting
is fully
approved
for CPD
by the
Royal College
of Physicians.
A New Investigator
Session
(extremely
popular
at the
2008 BRS-BORS
meeting
in Manchester)
will feature
talks on
career
development
and funding
by some
of the
major providers
in our
field.
A key component
of the
meeting
will be
the extensive
opportunities
for informal
discussion
and for
poster
viewing,
and we
warmly
invite
you to
submit
your abstracts
for both
oral and
poster
presentation.
Of course
Cambridge
itself
needs no
introduction,
and we
are looking
forward
to welcoming
you to
this academically
historic
city. Cambridge
is well
served
by road
and rail
connections,
and for
those travelling
from further
afield
Stansted
airport
is nearby.
The conference
venue is
in the
centre
of town
and close
to numerous
accommodation
options.
We hope
that you
will come
and join
us for
what promises
to be a
stimulating
and informative
meeting
between
our two
societies
and we
look forward
to welcoming
you in
Cambridge.
Best wishes
