This
year's
(2012)
BRS/NOS
New Investigator
session
will consist
of two
sessions.
Firstly
Dr Kay
Guccione,
researcher
development
advisor
from the
University
of Sheffield,
will be
leading
an interactive
session
on effective
networking
giving
practical
guidance
as to how
to improve
your research
profile.
This follows
on from
her key
contribution
to the
1st BRS
New Investigator
workshop
held in
Sheffield
last July
(2011),
which was
given such
positive
feedback.
After
tea we
will move
on to focus
on CV writing
and how
to market
yourself
on paper.
Ensure
you bring
your own
CV to get
the most
from this
session!
You will
be able
to seek
confidential
and constructive
feedback
as to the
layout
and content
of your
CV from
a range
of established
researchers
with basic,
translational
and clinical
backgrounds.
The whole
afternoon
will be
informal,
is open
to all
basic and
clinical
researchers,
and should
be fun!
Although
the session
ends at
5.30pm,
there will
be a general
migration
to a local
hostelry
to put
your newly
acquired
networking
skills
to the
test!
This session
is free
to those
attending
the BRS/NOS
conference,
