Computer 3D printing used to create new hip
Doctors at Southampton University Hospitals have used 3D printing to create a bespoke hip replacement for a woman who has undergone six previous operations, in one of the first cases of its kind.

Professor Cyrus Cooper wins the Pierre Delmas Award for research into osteoporosis at the IOF/ESCEO in Seville
At the World Congress on Osteoporosis in Seville, Spain, Professor Cyrus Cooper was selected as the winner of the Pierre Delmas Award for research into osteoporosis. This is the premier research award presented by IOF and ESCEO to honour an individual academic who has contributed significantly to the field of osteoporosis and musculoskeletal science, through original and outstanding scientific contributions.

Proposed Constitutional Changes
The BRS membership has voted in favour of a change in the constitution:
7. The affairs of the Society shall be managed by an Executive Committee consisting of the officers and eight other elected members, to include two New Investigator representatives, one of whom shall be clinically qualified. No less than a quarter of the committee shall consists of clinically qualified researchers and no less than a quarter of the committee shall consist of basic science researchers at any one time. The Committee may co-opt others if required. |
