BRS New Investigator Award and Best Presentation Award applicants must be:

  • A member of BRS at the time of applying
  • Within 3 years of attainment of higher degree or completion of specialist training
  • A presenting author (oral or poster) at BRS meeting  

New Investigator Awards

For the top scoring abstracts from eligible authors.
Award - Registration, accommodation fees and travelling expenses.

Best Presentation Awards

Presentations will be judged during the meeting and prizes will be awarded as follows

  • Best oral
  • Best oral poster
  • Best poster

ASBMR Travel Grants

ASBMR has generously offered 2 travel grants of up to $1500 for ASBMR in-training members residing outside of the UK to attend the Edinburgh meeting. The awards will be judged on the quality/score of abstracts submitted by first and presenting authors, the deadline for which is 1 June 2015.

BRS is grateful to ASBMR for their generous support. 

As with the awards listed above, please tick the box on the abstract submission form to confirm your eligibility to be considered for an award and confirm eligibility as indicated on the form.

Eligibility criteria for ASBMR awards:

  • In-training member of ASBMR
  • Presenting author (oral or poster)
  • Residing outside the UK

Bursaries

The Society also offers bursaries of up to £150 towards the cost of attending the meeting to BRS members submitting abstracts.

British Society for Matrix Biology

BSMB members may apply for a bursary of up to £250 to attend the meeting. The bursaries will cover conference costs (eg registration, accommodation and conference dinner) and a contribution toward travel costs.

Applicants must have joined the BSMB before the 1st May 2015 (122 days before the start of the meeting) to be eligible for a bursary. Applicants should either be presenting their work or prepared to produce a short meeting report.

The deadline for bursary applications will be announced closer to the date of the meeting.
