Venue
Oxford established itself as a centre of academic excellence in the thirteenth century, with the founding of its first three colleges and academic Halls. The University is the oldest in the UK, and forms the heart of a fascinating city. As well as a priceless heritage, modern Oxford offers a wide range of entertainments and shopping options, and within a short distance lie the Cotswolds, Stratford-on-Avon, home of William Shakespeare, and Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
All scientific sessions will be held at the Examination Schools, High Street, Oxford OX1 4BG.
Accommodation is at Queen’s and Merton Colleges – both a short walk from the Examination Schools.
The main railway station is about a mile away and the bus station is a similar distance. Buses from London, Heathrow, Gatwick, and most local buses stop immediately outside Queen’s College on the High Street.
Thornhill and Seacourt Park & Ride buses stop immediately outside Queen’s College (ask the driver for the Queen's Lane stop).
See here for map and travel directions and also this location map which shows the venues we are using for the meeting, along with the various travel options.
Please note that there is no parking either at the Examination Schools or at Queen’s College!
