Accommodation

For those staying at the University, we are using two Halls - Crombie Hall and King's Hall. Please refer to your registration confirmation letter to see which Hall you will be in. Both are a short bus journey from the venue.

Crombie Hall

  • Reception and picking up keys reception is manned 24 hours a day and is in Crombie Hall
  • Tea & coffee making facilities available in en suite rooms & in adjacent kitchens for standard rooms.
  • Breakfast served in Eat@Johnstone:

    Tuesday 3 July: 07:30-09:00
    Wednesday 4 July: 06:45-09:00
    Thursday 5 July: 07:00-09:00

King's Hall

  • Reception and picking up of keys reception is in Crombie Hall and is manned 24 hours a day
  • Facilities in Room TV, trouser press, tea and coffee, radio alarm, fresh towels everyday
  • Breakfast served in Eat@Johnstone:

    Tuesday 3 July: 07:30-09:00
    Wednesday 4 July: 06:45-09:00
    Thursday 5 July: 07:00-09:00
  • Luggage storage will be available at the meeting venue
  • All en suite bedrooms are equipped with towels and toiletries. Standard bedrooms are provided with towels only.
  • Tea / coffee making facilities are available
  • Irons are available on request
  • Check-in - rooms available after 14.00
  • Check-out - room to be vacated by 10.00
  • There is a charge of £25 for unreturned keys.
  • Taxi - free phone in reception

Parking

Some parking available on campus (display permit which can be collected from Porters’ Lodge).

On street parking also available.

Disabled access

limited access is available in the Halls of Residence. It is essential that you inform Janet Crompton in advance if you require any special assistance during your stay in Aberdeen.

Emergencies in Halls of Residence

  • Fire: Action to be taken in the event of fire as detailed on the notice in your room. Please read this as soon as possible.
  • Accidents: If you are involved in an accident of any kind, please report to Reception.
  • Emergency Medical Assistance: Call for an ambulance by dialling 9-999, inform reception.
  • Other Medical Assistance: Contact reception whom will help you.

Insurance and security

Subject to their statutory rights, neither the Bone Research Society nor the University will accept any responsibility for accidents to delegates while at the meeting, or for damage to, or loss of, their personal property. Delegates are requested to reduce the risk of thefts by not leaving valuables unattended on University premises.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted within any public places in Scotland. This includes within the University bedrooms.

Buses

For those staying on the University campus (King's Hall and Crombie Hall), buses will be provided to the AECC on the morning of 3, 4 and 5 July, returning at the end of each day.
Pick-up points
Mornings: Outside the entrance to the reception at Crombie Hall (building 40 [Zeste] on the Campus map)
Evenings: Outside the main reception of the AECC.

Pick up times
08:55 on Tuesday morning
07:55 on Wednesday morning
08:25 on Thursday morning

17:40 on Tuesday evening from the AECC
18:10 on Wednesday evening from the AECC

There will also be buses to Aberdeen Airport leaving the AECC at 15:40 on 5 July.

Buses for social events

For those staying on the University campus (King's Hall and Crombie Hall), buses will be provided from outside the entrance to the reception at Crombie Hall (building 40 [Zeste] on the Campus map)to the Reception to be held at the Town and County Hall on Tuesday July 3rd and to and from the Annual Dinner at the Beach Ballroom on Wednesday July 4th.
