BRS New Investigator Award and Best Presentation Award applicants must be:

  • A member of BRS at the time of applying
  • Within 3 years of attainment of higher degree or completion of specialist training
  • A presenting author (oral or poster) at BRS meeting

New Investigator Awards

For the top scoring abstracts from eligible authors.
Award - Registration, accommodation fees and travelling expenses.

Best Presentation Awards

Presentations will be judged during the meeting and prizes will be awarded as follows

  • Best oral
  • Best oral poster
  • Best poster 

1 clinical, 1 non-clinical in each case.

Award - £100

Bursaries

The Society also offers bursaries of up to £150 towards the cost of attending the meeting to BRS members submitting abstracts.

New Parent Bursaries

The BRS Committee would like to support new parents who would find it difficult to attend the meeting because of childcare issues.  Bursaries are available to members who are presenting at the meeting and need help with travel/accommodation for a partner to attend, or childcare.

Member bursaries for other meetings

Reminder – BRS also offers bursaries to its members towards the costs of attending other UK and international meetings.

Award - £100 for UK meetings; £150 for international meetings

ASBMR Travel Grants

BRS is delighted to announce that ASBMR has generously offered 2 travel grants of up to $1500 for New Investigator ASBMR members residing outside of the UK to attend the Sheffield meeting. The awards will be judged on the quality/score of abstracts submitted by first and presenting authors, the deadline for which is 14 February 2014.

BRS is grateful to ASBMR for their generous support.
