Bone & Tooth Society Annual Meeting

InvitationIt is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 2004 annual meeting of the Bone and Tooth Society in Oxford. The meeting will be held in the excellent facilities of St Catherine's College, a modern campus close to the centre of the city. As you will see, our keynote speakers will come from a variety of disciplines and are of international standing. We hope you will find their presentations enlightening and informative. There will be plenary lectures as well as symposia on:
There will be also be a Clinical Session looking at new treatments for bone disease, such as strontium and PTH, and an update on bisphosphonate treatments. This will also include a talk on assessment of treatment response. We have kept the meeting to two days in an effort to reduce the cost of attending. In addition to this, we are delighted to offer a number of FREE - yes FREE!!! - studentships to enable young scientists to attend the meeting at no cost at all! These will be available to those aged 35 or less and will be based on abstract submissions, so get writing! In addition to this, there are the usual Bone and Tooth Society Young Investigator Awards, Registrar Prizes and Travel Bursaries, so there are plenty of funding options for young researchers. This is a residential conference and the compact nature of the campus will mean that there is plenty of opportunity for informal discussion. We have programmed plenty of time for poster viewing. We hope that you will come and join us for what promises to be an exciting meeting. See you in Oxford! Submitted abstracts will be selected for oral and poster presentation and authors will be notified in April 2004. Abstracts will be published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research. Please indicate on the abstract form if you are eligible and would like to be considered for one of these prizes. We are delighted to announce that for
the 2004 meeting the local organisers will be offering a number of

form to be considered. Registration and accommodation informationThe meeting will take place at St Catherine's College, Manor Road, Oxford. This is a residential conference and the meeting packages include bed and breakfast accommodation on campus and a reception and 4-course dinner on the night of Tuesday 29 June. St Catherine's is a compact campus close to the city centre and all bedrooms are a few metres walk from the lecture theatres and dining hall. Please register as early as possible. CancellationCancellations will be accepted in writing until 30 April 2004. Until that time a refund of 70% of the registration fee will be made. VenueThe meeting will take place at St Catherine's College, Manor Road, Oxford. St Catherine's College founded in 1962, is one of Oxford's newer colleges. Designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen, the College has a traditional layout in quadrangle style with gardens. Its situation and architecture make it a most successful conference venue. Map TravelMaps will be sent to all registered delegates. By airThere are three major airports within 90 minutes of Oxford: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and Birmingham. Regular coaches and trains connect the airports with the city. By trainThere are regular train services to Oxford from all parts of the country and from continental Europe via the EuroTunnel. By roadOxford lies at the centre of a network of major roads and motorways. The M40 gives access to the West and Wales.
